CV objective for freshers: 20 examples

Updated 20 October 2026 · 5 min read

Short answer

A fresher's CV objective is 1–2 sentences that name the role you want, your degree or key skill, and what you can offer the employer. For example: "BS Computer Science graduate with internship experience in React and Node.js, seeking a junior developer role where I can build reliable web features from day one."

Objective or summary: which should a fresher use?

A summary sells experience you already have. An objective states the job you want and why you are a good fit. With little or no work history, an objective is usually the better choice because it tells the recruiter which role to consider you for, which matters when you apply to large employers with many openings.

Once you have a year or two of experience, switch to a summary. See CV summary examples.

The formula

Fill in the blanks, then edit until it sounds like you:

"[Degree / qualification] graduate with [one or two specific skills, an internship or project], seeking a [target job title] role at [type of company or the company name] where I can [what you will contribute]."

Keep it to 25–45 words. Mention the company or industry by name when you tailor it.

Mistakes freshers make

  • All about you: "…where I can learn and grow my career." Employers know you want to grow; say what you will do for them.
  • Vague role: "seeking a suitable position in a reputed organisation" is the most common line in Pakistani CVs and says nothing.
  • Buzzwords: "dynamic, hard-working, result-oriented" without evidence.
  • Too long: a paragraph of five lines pushes your education and projects off the first screen.

How to tailor an objective for each application

The same objective sent to a bank, a school and a software house will not fit any of them well. Before each application, spend two minutes on these changes:

  1. Use the exact job title from the advert. If the bank calls it "Cash Officer", do not write "teller".
  2. Name the employer or its sector. "…at a leading telecom operator" or "…at Engro" shows the letter was written for them.
  3. Pick the one skill they mention first and make sure it appears in your objective.
  4. Add availability or location if it matters: "available immediately", "based in Karachi", "willing to relocate to Lahore".

For example, the same graduate might write "BS CS graduate seeking a junior QA engineer role at a fintech company, with hands-on experience writing Selenium tests in my final-year project" for one job, and "BS CS graduate seeking an IT support role at a hospital, with CCNA training and experience setting up a 40-PC campus lab" for another. Both are honest; each fits its job.

What to put below the objective

Your objective only works if the rest of the CV supports it. For freshers the usual order is:

  1. Objective
  2. Education (degree, university, year, CGPA if 3.0+ or first division)
  3. Projects (final-year project and any personal or course projects, each with what you built and the tools used)
  4. Internships and part-time work
  5. Skills (technical and languages)
  6. Certifications, volunteering and activities

Our guide to writing a CV with no experience covers how to fill these sections well. You can also borrow wording from the admin assistant or cashier examples, which suit entry-level roles.

What is a good objective for a fresher with no experience?

Should I change my objective for each job?

Yes. At least change the job title and company or industry so it matches the ad.
